The Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique, originally developed in Australia, is a ‘hands off, hands on’ treatment. The moves are gentle and the client should experience little or no pain during treatment, although certain areas may be tender or sensitive. The technique allows the body to do the work and the response to treatment can be very quick and long lasting.
The session can last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the condition you are receiving treatment for.
As a clinical tool Bowen is especially useful and highly effective when other treatments are unsuitable, especially where a client is very frail, sick or infirm. If you want to find our more, please call Campbell on 02892 622912 or follow this link ( to ECBS European Bowen Society)
Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into specific points in the bod. We use acupuncture, at The Clinic, with some clients to help manage pain, and many people find it very effective. It is safe, as only single use, sterile needles are used and serious side effects are very rare- less than 1 per 10,000 cases. A full case history will be taken before acupuncture, as some medical conditions may mean acupuncture is nor recommended for you. Some people feel very relaxed during treatment and drowsy afterwards. If you want to find out more, please call Campbell or Katie on 02892 622912 or see the guidelines produced by NICE that recommend the use of acupuncture in the treatment of low back pain. Acupuncture sessions can last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the condition you are being treated for.
